Empathise. Wonder. Equip.

Short stories and gentle strategies to help girls aged 6–10 navigate the challenges of growing up, build courage, form healthy relationships, and think deeply about the kind of young woman they're becoming.

About

Ever Wonder was born from a simple idea: what if our daughters had a space where they could pause and reflect what happened in their day, then consider how their thoughts and actions shape the kind of person they want to become?

Hosted by Laura Smith—a mum of four and someone who knows the complexity of observing and helping their child navigate friendship drama, big emotions, or shame.

Laura began writing stories for her own daughter to help her wonder—to think about who she is, who she wants to be like, and what it means to live with kindness, courage, and conviction.

Each episode is crafted to:

  • Help girls explore identity, relationships, and emotions through story

  • Equip them with gentle, age-appropriate tools for handling hard moments

  • Grow them in self-worth, resilience, and relational wisdom

But Ever Wonder isn’t just for girls—it’s for parents too.

You’ll find:

  • Conversation prompts to help spark meaningful chats

  • Suggested language for hard topics

  • Practical ways to model empathy, confidence, and calm under pressure

Because we believe mums and dads are the best people to help shape who their daughters are becoming—and we want to support you as you do just that.

FAQ’S

Is this podcast appropriate for all ages?

Ever Wonder is created specifically for girls aged 6 to 10. Younger children may enjoy listening too, but the stories are most relatable for primary-aged girls who are beginning to face friendship dynamics, big feelings, and identity questions. While always gentle and age-appropriate, it isn’t designed for toddlers or older teens.

Should I listen with my daughter?

You’re very welcome to. Many parents find that listening together—at bedtime, in the car, or during quiet moments—opens up helpful conversations. That said, the podcast is also designed for girls to enjoy independently. Each episode includes gentle strategies and reflections they can absorb on their own, with optional conversation prompts and discussion tools available to support follow-up chats.

How long are the episodes?

Episodes are intentionally short and calming, usually between 5 and 15 minutes. They’re ideal for brief moments of stillness, school runs, or bedtime wind-downs.

Does it talk about faith?

While the tone of the podcast is grounded in kindness, compassion, and emotional growth, Ever Wonder is not explicitly faith-based or from a particular world view. It’s designed to be welcoming and helpful to all families, regardless of belief. The stories focus on character-building and resilience without including direct religious teaching.
